There are three major roles on LaborX: Recruiter, Client and Worker:

  • Recruiters create and manage jobs boards, giving structure to the LaborX ecosystem and enabling Clients and Workers to connect with each other effectively.
  • Clients or employers are businesses or individuals looking for a worker to fill a short-term vacancy or carry out a given task. These may include Labour Hire companies.
  • Workers are freelancers or contractors looking for employment.

There are also LaborX Managers, who carry out certain administrative tasks. You can find out more about the different roles on LaborX at https://files.chronobank.io/files/laborx_whitepaper.pdf

All three roles start by creating an account, agreeing to the terms, and then having their profile validated. The Recruiter will then need to create a relevant job board before anyone can offer or accept work. Workers and Clients can join a board, having their skills and profile validated if they wish.

The Client then posts a job, defining compensation and terms, for which a Worker can apply. Alternatively, a Worker can make a Client an offer for the job in question. Subject to the application being accepted or offer approved, the Worker starts. Expenses can be added and approved by Worker and Client respectively during the course of the job.

Jobs can end in one of three ways.

1) The Worker completes the job, the Client pays, and each of the parties involved give a rating for their experience of the process.

2) The Worker completes the job but the Client is not satisfied with it. If this occurs, Client and Worker can try to reach a resolution independently. Should they fail to find a solution, additional arbitration and input from a Board Manager, LaborX Manager and external parties may be requested. Again, ratings can be given in the course of this process.

3) The Client terminates the job before it is completed, for reasons unconnected with the Worker’s performance. In this case, the Client will typically pay a pro-rata fee for the work already done.
